That being said, I LOVE spending time with my couples to capture those amazing, romantic, epic portrait shots. I come from an art and fashion background, so naturally I love to get super creative with my couples, however as every wedding is different, my aim is to connect with my couples on a personal level and make sure they feel at ease.
My approach to wedding photography and capturing a visual story of your day
For many people, photos are a legacy. Weddings are very special days and I believe it's really important to make sure you have your day documented in a way in which you will cherish looking back on... long after the honeymoon tan has faded.
Photos for me evoke memories and feelings in the same way that music or scent can, and therefore I always strive to create emotive and natural imagery in an artistic style. I take pride in capturing these moments for people, knowing that they will be treasured and seen by family for generations to come.

My aim is to capture authentic moments as they happen. During my whole time as a wedding photographer, some of my favourite shots have been the natural frames that happen without any expectation. I rarely put my camera down throughout the day, so not to miss those little fleeting moments.
I love morning prep and I will always arrive with plenty of time to capture it - all of the excitement and anticipation that happens on the morning of a wedding! This part of the day also gives me time to get creative with detail shots too - The outfits, florals, stationary etc... But mainly - It's all about the special time spent between family and friends before the day really kicks off - and I wanna be there to document it for you!

During a wedding day I will never stop looking for opportunities for shots that will tell the story of your day as it unfolds. I am constantly seeking beauty within the ordinary...

...and of course ALL of the happiness, the laughter and the conversations. I'm not afraid to get amongst the guests and capture all the interactions that are shared on the day.

What about group shots? Yes of course I will shoot these for you, however I try to keep them to a maximum of 8-10 variations. I find that any more can become too time consuming, and quite often you can't find Uncle Steve anywhere because he is at the bar buying a round of drinks! Plus, you end up losing time just being able to enjoy yourself with your guests. If what you're looking for in a wedding photographer is someone to take endless amounts of group shots, then I will be honest, I'm probably not the person for you.

... however if you're someone who is looking for a beautiful set of portrait shots then I'm your gal. I'm not an overly-posey wedding photographer so I don't have a rigid way of working when it comes to taking photos of a couple. Everyone is different so I really go with the flow here. So much can depend on the visual outcome of a portrait session - the weather, the light, the outfits, the surroundings. The most important thing is that the couple feels relaxed and therefore nothing is ever forced. I love the challenge this gives me to create something beautiful and artistic.

After all the speeches are done, all the dinner is eaten, the cake is cut and the first dance has commenced you'll often find a wedding photographer packing their kit away. But there is no way I want to miss out on the dancefloor action. When else am I going to get a photo of someone's grandad dancing to Sex on Fire? Sometimes it can take a while to get going, sometimes its too warm and light outside and people are enjoying the long summer days, but one thing is for certain - if the party is kicking off I wanna be there for it. Heck, I will be on the dancefloor dancing with you all. And on that note I will leave to with some of my favourite party shots.
